Youth Staff
We highly value the investment of adults time and lives in our students' lives. We believe that we all have different stories, experiences, and pasts and that when combined, we can effectively reach out to our students in ways we couldn't individually. We currently have a dedicated group of adults who are committed to the teens of our church and community but are always looking for more who are willing to help. There is always room for new sponsors. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact Jeff for more information!
FSM Vision
PRAY.REACH.SERVE.GROW.
Starting this semester, we are going to focus on a few key areas: prayer, reaching out, service, and growth. By focusing on these areas, we know God will move in big ways in and through our student ministries here at Woodland Park Christian Church.
PRAY. We want to become people of prayer and emphasize the impact prayer can have when we faithfully pray. By having bi-monthly prayer meetings and encouraging a consistent prayer life, our students will begin to see just how powerful prayer really is.
REACH. We also want to reach out to those who need something positive in their lives such as Jesus Christ. By showing His love to others no matter who they are, we shine the love of God to the dark corners of the world. Sometimes when you want to make an impact on someone, you have to reach out to them instead of waiting for them to come to you.
SERVE. Jesus was a servant Himself. In Matthew 20:28, he says, "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Jesus commands us to serve others. Whether it be through small acts of kindness or service projects, we want to show not only the importance of serving others but also the joy that can be found in doing so!
GROW. This is a two-fold section. Our relationship with Christ is one that should be of the highest priority. We want to accommodate a deepening of this relationship through prayer, reading of the Word, worship, etc... The other part of growth is growing closer together as a group. Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." We want to encourage our students to grow closer together as a group so they can be a support for each other in tough times and also to be able to effectively further the Kingdom of God together!
